AFTERLIFE CLASSES

here you can find explanations of each afterlife denizen class! we will be revealing more as we go, just so that we avoid getting overwhelmed typing them all out.

DEMON

When a Supercyber denizens cause of death is perceived as justified, they will become a demon in the afterlife. Whether this is true or not does not matter to whatever automatic sorting system the afterlife has, and demons are considered neutral beings, just like any other class. They typically have horns of some kind, and vary in every other aspect. Demons typically have "manipulation" abilities- powers that allow them to influence (but not completely control) aspects of other people, be that their emotions, perception, understanding, etc. These powers are exceptionally dangerous in the wrong hands, but many demons with kind hearts use them to help others process and heal, especially in therapy settings.

GHOST

When a Supercyber denizens cause of death is unperceived, they will become a ghost in the afterlife. Someone can still be responsible for their death (such as through an act of violence), but they must have passed on without generally being observed or known about. Ghosts tend to have drippy eyes and wispy shapes, but this is not always the case. Ghosts typically have "transformation" abilities- powers that allow them to change either their form or a target's temporarily, with exact restrictions being based on subclass. Some people consider ghost powers to be less impressive than other afterlife classes, but they have just as much potential in the right hands.

SYNTH

When part of a Supercyber denizen "dies" before the rest of them (coma w/ no chance of recovery/life support are some examples), a synth core will be created. This core is a partially formed afterlife denizen, and requires a constructed body to inhabit and fully function in. Synths have no consistent design motifs, but must always have their bodies purposefully constructed by others (vs the afterlife system itself choosing a form for them). Synths are capable of manipulating data (of both realms and beings within them), the exact extent and method of doing so varying based on subclass. Some are only able to change little things, like colors of objects, while others may be able to alter far more impressive things, such as one's physical features or the structure of a building.

MONSTER

When a Supercyber denizens cause of death is perceived as unjustified, they will become a monster in the afterlife. Whether this is true or not does not matter to whatever automatic sorting system the afterlife has, and demons are considered neutral beings, just like any other class. Monsters typically have sharp teeth and claws, but some outliers exist. Monster abilities rely on "consumption"- they have to consume a specific type of data, based on subclass, to activate their powers. How much they consume tends to tie directly into how much power they can wield, and those who aren't careful may find themselves spiralling out of control after consuming too much.

CRYPTID

When a Supercyber denizens cause of death is unknown, they will become a cryptid in the afterlife. It is hard to identify what makes a cause of death unknown, but those who find themselves passing on in mysterious ways find themselves becoming this class in death. Cryptids have very little in the way of consistent visual traits, and are just as mysterious as their origins. Cryptid abilities tend to be aura-like in nature, capable of affecting both living beings and the environment around them. These auras can have any multitude of effects, and there is no way to predict a cryptid subclass's powers.
